Why So Actively Purse Full Time Ministry At The Age of 59?

Definitely NOT to retire!

Oswald Chambers put it better than I ever could.  Speaking to his students at The Bible Training College and commenting on 1 Corinthians 9:16, Chambers said:

"Paul’s words have to do with our being made servants of Jesus Christ, and our permission is never asked as to what we will do or where we will go.  God makes us as broken bread and poured-out wine to please Himself.  To be “separated to the gospel” means being able to hear the call of God (Romans 1:1).  Once someone begins to hear that call, a suffering worthy of the name of Christ is produced.  Suddenly, every ambition, every desire of life, and every outlook is completely blotted out and extinguished.  Only one thing remains—…separated to the gospel. Woe be to the soul who tries to head in any other direction once that call has come to him...Beware of competing calls once the call of God grips you."

The Compelling Force of the Call (February 2)

Thank you for your time and attention.  I look forward to hearing from you."

Here are the specific ministries some people say I do well.

As I saw it when I originally posted this online resume, what I had to say about my own accomplishments was far less important than how others assess my career, my character and whether, by God's grace, I had been used to make a difference in their lives. So I posted letters from a great many wonderful and affirming people.

I thought it might be useful for pastors and/or committees to call and/or email the people whose information listed on the Ministry References and Business References tabs to the left. Despite dozens of interviews, including twelve top three candidacies, as near as I can tell only one prospective employer ever contacted references. I still find that somewhat odd. That same prospective employer discovered a fraudulant applicant by attempting to check the references of an applicant who had interviewed very well and that had been ranked very high among the applicants. Checking references earlier in hiring processes still seems a wise move on my part.
