Mariniers Church (Formerly South Coast Community Church)Doubled participation in a middle-aged singles ministry from 100 to 200 people over three years while church-wide attendance was plummeting from 4500 to 1300. Successfully shifted focus from events to relationships. Grew leadership team from 7 to 18. Expanded number of “key volunteers” from 10 to 46. Increased small groups/ministry teams from 7 to 18. Widened volunteer opportunities from 30 to 150. Helped launch the Network Team, counseled dozens of volunteers from virtually all ministries. Trained other counselors. Graduated some 60 single adults from Network Ministries International’s Discovery Sessions and provided personal counseling for each. Collaborated with the South Coast Center for Counseling and Personal Growth to develop and deliver a unique divorce recovery workshop. Started single parent ministry as a small group and helped build it into a “small crowd.” Broadened Sunday morning and mid-week service attendance among single adults, particularly leaders and key volunteers. Opened doors for single adults to serve in other church ministries.

Sand Canyon Church
Co-planted a PCA church that grew to approximately 200 people in first two years. Established and lead church-wide ministry teams and small groups during first year, including start up team, children’s ministry, event planning, hospitality, and assimilation. Assisted programming/music director to establish small group approach to music and technical volunteer effort. Hosted a spirited church history and theology small group, weekly for 4 years. Assisted with weekly programming. Created dynamic PowerPoint content to support and create a thread of consistency among all program elements. Frequently hosted Sunday services and wrote transitions/set ups for other program components. Occasionally preached in the senior pastor’s absence. Network Ministries International Assisted with Network presentations at Willow Creek Leadership Conference. Conducted Network training for staff, elder board and deacons of Bel Air Presbyterian Church. Completed Network 101, 201 and 301 training. |
Parkcrest Christian Church
Assumed responsibility for a small single parent family ministry, established a leadership team and amplified its relational and spiritual impact. Successfully integrated children and teens into single parent family ministry and deepened interaction among all moms, dads and kids. Concurrently conducted four “Forty Days of Purpose” groups ranging in size from 6 to 20 single and married adults. Supervised part-time music director responsible for providing live music for weekly singles coffee house. Co-developed and co-presented 6-hour leadership training workshop for ministry leaders. Introduced periodic electronic newsletter for single parent family ministry. Launched a Saturday night ministry for the children of single parents who wanted to participate in on-campus fellowship. Launched a Saturday night ministry for the teenagers of single parents who wanted to participate in on-campus fellowship. Hosted and conducted three 6-week divorce recovery workshops based on Jim Smoke’s book Growing Through Divorce. Oversee Divorce Care Team as it conducts 13 week divorce recovery series. Oversee launch of new singles ministry at Parkcrest's new campus.
